ONLINE WORKSHOP

LFP recycling: who pays for the feed?

Under the Battery Value Equation, CES runs workshops that bring the battery value chain together, so that every player can get more value from batteries, from use to recycling. After workshops in London and Vienna, the concept now goes online, with a narrower focus on one issue that deserves deeper analysis: the economics of LFP battery recycling.

The Vienna workshop concluded that LFP recycling is profitable in China but at a disadvantage from the pre-processing stage onwards in high-cost, weaker industrial environments such as Europe and North America. It also showed clear demand for a deeper analysis: why LFP recycling pays in China, and what it would take to make it work elsewhere. This workshop provides that analysis.

It builds on the new CES report on LFP recycling economics, drawn from almost 100 operating and planned recycling operations worldwide, nearly all of them in China. We share the data and discuss what it means for the rest of the world: building systems that either replicate the current ecosystem or align with it.

Small by design: places are capped so there is room for discussion and every question is answered.

Moderated and recorded: the recording goes to all participants.

Prepare in advance: report buyers receive the report straight after payment; workshop-only participants receive a data deck.
